Greetings to the populace of the Barony of Settmour Swamp from Cassandra de Matisse & Alexander MacRus

You've seen us at events, perhaps in the kitchen, or at troll, behind a desk, or swabbing a mop. Both of us have a long history of helping at events. Recently, you've seen us making and serving Dayboard at Mudthaw, helping with troll and setup at Quest, and perhaps you've seen the cast bronze towers awarded at court recently that Alexander has made. We have been active in the Barony for over a decade.

We would like to take this opportunity to explain why were are running for the positions of Baron and Baroness of Settmour Swamp. Quite simply, we believe that we will do the job well. We are both well liked, and personable people, and we are happy to be on friendly terms with the different groups that are active in the Barony. We also believe that we would be good advocates of the populace of the Barony to the Crown, and we think we would be fair representatives of the Crown to the Barony. Also, mundanely, we are both lucky to have work schedules that allow us a good amount of flexibility.

We would also like to use this occasion to tell you what we would do if choosen. Alexander would like to see more awards given out, not necessarily Baronial awards, but personal awards, in order to acknowledge more contributions from people. Cassandra would work towards having a more social aspect to monthly meetings, perhaps, in addition to business meetings, with the purpose of drawing more people into the workings of the Barony. Together, we'd also like to create more opportunity for people to get involved with activities and events.

We know that we can't compel people to be involved, but we will try to make it as fun as possible in the hope that people will choose to. All of this is undertaken with the understanding, that not everyone plays the game the same. We believe it's important that everybody is able to enjoy it in their own way too. Therefore, we will endeavor represent and promote all aspects of the activities in the Barony, wether or not we take participate directly ourselves.

Finally, we know we can't express our entire personalities and everything that we stand for in just one letter. We urge everyone to attend the populace meetings, to talk to us, engage us in conversation, and get to know all the candidates.
