Warmest greetings unto the populace of the Barony of Settmour Swamp from Owynn Greenwood.

I’ve lived inside the borders of Settmour Swamp my entire life. I consider myself very privileged to have grown up in this wonderful Barony.

In my time in the SCA I have participated in a wide variety of activities. I am an authorized fighter and fencer and have been known to pick up a bow and arrow or throwing axe. I also enjoy serving as a heavy weapons marshal and currently am training to be a fencing marshal. I dabble in leather and wood working.

Over the past few years, I have been actively involved in the affairs of the Barony and the Canton of Marwick, having served as seneschal and web minister.

My goal, as well of the goal of my running-mate, Mistress Mercedes de Calafia is to continue the great traditions and leadership exhibited here in Settmour Swamp. These traditions and leadership practices have been nurtured and have flourished under our current and former landed Coronets of the Barony.

If selected, we shall strive to continue in the examples of those who have come before us, by enriching the lives of the populace of this Barony, the East Kingdom, and the Society as a whole.

I look forward to sharing with you my vision and goals. I will be at the populace meetings and traveling to events throughout the Southern Region over the course of the summer. Unto the populous of the Barony of Settmour Swamp does Mercedes de Calafia send fair greetings.

I would like to take a brief moment to share some of my SCA experiences with you. I have been a member of the SCA for 30 years. Previously, I lived in Caid, but I have spent over 25 years as a proud member of the East. While I spent a few years living in the Barony of Carillion, the majority of my time in the East has been spent as a member of the Barony of Settmour Swamp. Currently, I am in the process of purchasing a home within the borders of the Barony.

Instead of listing my SCA resume, there are a few jobs I’ve held that I believe will help me if we are fortunate enough to be elected. I have served on the Kingdom level as the East Kingdom Rapier Marshal, for which I was inducted into the Order of the Pelican. On the Baronial level, I was appointed Vicar of Carillion, for which I was made a Court Baroness. The experiences of these two offices have given me insight into dealing with the Kingdom as a whole and being the head of a Barony in particular.

Settmour Swamp is a wonderful thriving group that is one of the best baronies in the Kingdom, filled with hardworking, and hard-playing people. My goal for the Barony is very simple, I want to help this continue and grow in the same traditions already being honored and created by the populace.
