Directions to Mudthaw 2002

(The site is just off Route 130, close to the NJ Turnpike, and Routes 1, 27, & 18. Several different routes are listed below -- please check a road atlas to find which is the best for you.)

Parking: Although the road in to the site is narrow there are two parking lots with plenty of parking available. We suggest fighters use the one closer to the fighting fields. Unloading space is limited so please be considerate and move your vehicle quickly.

Starting near Route 78 in northwest NJ:
Take exit 29 for I-287 South. You will stay on Route 287 past exit 1, and exit for the NJ Turnpike South. Get off the Turnpike at exit 9, and continue as "From the NJ Turnpike" below.

From the NJ Turnpike:
Take exit 9, New Brunswick. After the toll booths, bear right to take the ramp for Rt 18 North/New Brunswick. Travel north on Route 18 for less than a mile, and take the right-hand exit for Rt 1 South. Go about 2-3 miles on Route 1, then ** take the jughandle for Route 130 South and cross Rt 1. At the second light, make a left onto Washington Place. ****Travel about .4 miles, across the bridge over the lake. The road name changes to Hardenburg Lane. Travel about .3 miles farther; the entrance for the Elks Lodge will be on the right. Look for SCA signs.

From Route 9: to Route 18 North (see below); --OR--
Route 9: to Route 33 West. Take 33 West to 133 West (right-hand exit). Take 133 W to Route 130 North (New Brunswick). Travel about 30 minutes north, when you reach Maple Mead, you will pass a light at Adams Lane, then make a right onto Washington Place. Continue from **** above.

For local travellers:

From Route 18, heading north: After you pass the NJ Turnpike, take the right-hand exit for Rt 1 South. Continue from ** above.

From Route 18, heading south: After passing New Brunswick and Douglas College, take the right-hand exit for Route 1 South, and continue from ** above.

From Route 287:
I-287 to exit 9 (River Road in Piscataway). Take River Road to the light at Metlars Lane, and turn right to go across the big bridge. The road becomes Route 18 south. After passing New Brunswick and Douglas College, take the right-hand exit for Route 1 South, and continue from ** above.
--OR-- I-287 to Exit 1 / Route 1 South. Continue from ** above.
