Uncle Thud will bring the ingredients for a simple extract Nut Brown Ale recipe to be brewed in class.

Students will be shown all the equipment and techniques required for beginning brewers to make good beer. Students will stir the pot and add all the ingredients under Uncle Thud’s supervision, and hopefully learn some of his tricks for making good drinkable beer. Students will also sample some of the ingredients that go into beer to get a feel for what flavors they bring to the beer (no eating the hops, eating hops is bad).

Hopefully the students will come away with enough of an understanding of beer brewing to go forth and brew their own beer!
