The class this month is an encore to last months very successful brewing class.

Uncle Thud’s Fruit Beer Brewing Class

Uncle Thud will bring a pre-prepared Kolsch beer ready for the addition of fruit using the Lambic method. Students will be shown some of the equipment and techniques required for brewers to make fruit beer. Students will prepare the fruit and add it to the beer in the first stage fermenter under Uncle Thud’s supervision, and hopefully learn some of his tricks for making good drinkable fruit beer. Uncle Thud will also demonstrate some of the instruments used in the measurement of alcohol content and pH (acid content is very important to ale fermentation). Hopefully the students will come away with enough of an understanding of fruit beer brewing to go forth and brew their own fruit beer
