Come one, come all to the first annual Medieval and Renaissance Faire, hosted by Alba Vineyard and sponsored by the Barony of Settmour Swamp.  The vineyard, NJ’s largest premium winery, produces internationally award winning wines, and hosts a variety of special events and festivals throughout the year.  The focus of this event/ public demo is to create a festive and educational experience for people of all ages with historical authenticity in an entertaining and interesting context.

We are planning to have music, dancing, actors, singers, merchants, games of skill, fighting, fencing, thrown weapons, archery, and period encampments with A&S displays and demos.  There will be food vendors (maybe a pig roast) and a “tavern” featuring the wines of Alba Vineyard.  There will be a brewing contest judged by the vineyard owners.  Register your entries upon arrival and try for a really nifty prize to be awarded by the winery.  No other alcohol will be allowed on the faire grounds.

Gate fees are $6 adults, $3 children under 14 and free under 6, each day.  Merchant fee is $60 for the weekend or $40 with 2 demos per day.  Please contact the coordinator below for more details and information packages.  Deadline for a listing in the program is May 15th.  The faire will be open to the public from 10-6 each day.  Set will be from 4pm Friday, and checkout by 10 am Monday.  Overnight camping is available for merchants, entertainers and volunteers by pre-registration only.

So come join us for the weekend.  Don your festive garb.  Sample delicious wines, sell your wares, sing and dance, play a game, demonstrate your skills, chase a wench, catch a rogue.  Be a part of the fun.
