Archers in the Luttrell Psalter, British Library

Target Archery Practice and Royal Rounds will return to Settmour Swamp in October 2022, and continue so long as the weather cooperates! First practice tentatively scheduled for October 9. We will update if there is any change to this date.

  • Sign-Ups
    • We ask that anyone planning to attend practice please sign up by 5PM on the Friday before practice using this sign-up sheet.
    • If there are no sign-ups by 5PM on the Friday before practice, then practice will be cancelled.
    • A $5 donation is suggested
  • Equipment
    • You must wear closed-toed shoes per the rules of the site.
    • We plan to have a limited number of loaner bows and arrows available for those who are new to target archery.
    • If you bring your own equipment, it must be inspected by a warranted target archery marshal before you may shoot.
    • If you want to score Royal Rounds, remember that your arrow/bolt shafts must be made of wood.
    • You can review all equipment requirements in the EK Archery Policies and/or ask a marshal.
  • Location & Parking
    • The range is located in Mill Creek Point Park between the lower Mill Creek Playground and the baseball diamond. You can park in the playground parking lot or roundabout and walk down through the playground, or park near the baseball diamond and walk through the path behind the outfield.
    • Both paths are safe ways to enter the archery range. We will try to mark the paths with a sign of some sort for the first few practices.
  • Accommodations
    • There is a portable toilet in the parking lot nearby.
    • Please bring your own chair if you would like to sit between rounds, as there is no built-in seating available near the range.
    • There is shade in a safe zone near the range, but if you would like to bring a small pop-up shelter, you are welcome to do so.
    • There are lots of trails and playgrounds in Mill Creek Point Park if family would like to come along and have fun doing other things while you shoot!
