Archers in the Luttrell Psalter, British Library

Target Archery & Thrown Weapons practice and Royal Rounds will continue so long as the weather cooperates! Archery only until June.

Sign-Ups

  • We ask that anyone planning to attend practice please sign up by 5PM on the Friday before practice using this sign-up sheet.
  • If there are no sign-ups by 5PM on the Friday before practice, then practice will be cancelled.
  • A $5 donation is recommended to help cover equipment costs.

Equipment

  • You must wear closed-toed shoes per the site rules.
  • Limited loaner bows and arrows available for those who are new to target archery.
  • We do not yet have Barony loaner thrown weapons. A limited number of your marshals’ personal weapons will be available to borrow.
  • If you bring your own equipment, it must be inspected by a warranted target archery/thrown weapons marshal before you may shoot/throw.
  • A product called “arrow lube” is recommended to help your arrows release easily from our foam targets, but a basic bar of soap is a DIY substitute!
  • If you want to score Target Archery Royal Rounds, remember that your arrow/bolt shafts must be made of wood.
  • You can review all equipment requirements in the EK Archery Policies, EK Thrown Weapons Participant Guide, and/or ask a marshal.

Location & Parking

  • The range is not very visible from the street.
  • The range is located in Mill Creek Point Park between the baseball diamond outfield and lower Mill Creek Playground/dog park. You can park in the playground parking lot or roundabout and walk down through the playground, or park near the baseball diamond and walk through the path behind the outfield.
  • Both paths are safe ways to enter the ranges, but please mind any safety or caution flags in place.
  • We will try to mark the paths with a sign of some sort for the first few practices.
  • Range use is by permit only. You may not use the range without Settmour permit holders (aka your marshals) present on site.

Accommodations

  • There is a portable toilet in the parking lot nearby. There are restrooms and drinking fountain at the baseball diamond a short walk from the range.
  • Please bring your own chair if you would like to sit. There is no built-in seating available near the range.
  • If you would like to bring a small pop-up shelter, you may.
  • Please carry any trash out with you when you leave.
  • There are lots of trails and playgrounds in Mill Creek Point Park if family would like to come along and have fun doing other things while you shoot!
